Eligibility
  • All business students from universities around the globe are eligible.
  • Each university can nominate ONE team. Each team should consist of a maximum of 4 students, with no more than one graduate student.
  • Students of the same team must come from the same institution at the time of application. Past awardees of either team awards or individual awards are not allowed to participate in the Competition.
  • Each team should be supervised by a Faculty Supervisor.
  • Hosting institution will be eligible to have one team in the Final Round of the Competition.

    Application deadline

  • 20 June 2022 Monday (10:00am, Hong Kong Time) 

    "First-round" case assigned to all participating teams

  • 30 June 2022 Thursday (6:00pm, Hong Kong Time)

    Submission deadline of the analysis report of the "First-round" case and pre-recorded presentation video of the “2-page Executive Summary” of the report

  • 16 September 2022 Friday

    Result announcement of five finalist teams including one team from the hosting institution

  • 4 November 2022 Friday

    Final Round of the Competition at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong SAR *

    * Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the mode (online/ face-to-face) of the Final-round Competition has not yet been confirmed.  The finalised details will be announced in mid-September 2022.

 

Competition Format
First Round
  • All participating teams will be assigned a case on 20 June 2022, Monday, and they have to submit a case analysis report with a 5-min pre-recorded presentation video to the Event Organiser by 30 June 2022, Thursday.
  • Case Analysis Report:
    • The case analysis report should be within 10 pages, excluding appendixes, plus a 2-page Executive Summary based on the case.
  • Pre-recorded Oral Presentation Video:
    • The presentation video should be within 5 minutes covering the 2-page Executive Summary of the case analysis report.
    • The presentation video should be in MP4 format and recorded with software like ZOOM or Microsoft Teams.
    • The presentation video must be conducted in English and show all members’ faces.
    • All team members have to participate in the presentation.
Final Round (Tentative)*
  • Four finalist teams, plus one team from the hosting institution, will be chosen to enter the Final-round Competition to be held on 4 November 2022 Friday at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong SAR.
  • Each finalist team has six hours to research, analyse, develop a set of action plans, and make recommendations to a business case.
  • Each finalist team will be given 20 minutes to present and 15 minutes to answer judges’ questions.

Accommodation for Finalists

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the format of the Final-round Competition has not yet been confirmed.  If the Final-round Competition is conducted in a face-to-face format at Hong Kong Baptist University in Hong Kong, free accommodation from 3 to 6 November 2022 (3 nights) with a maximum of 3 twin-bedded rooms will be provided to each non-local finalist team. Extra rooms and/ nights will be on participating teams’ own expenses.
