Introduction
The New Business Venture Competition 2006 is organized by the Wing Lung Bank International Institute for Business Development (IIBD). It is designed to provide an integrative learning experience for participating students to develop new business ventures and to prepare them for opportunities in entrepreneurship sometime during their careers. Members of the venture community, including successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and other professionals and professors from academic institutions will evaluate and judge the business plans. The panels of judges will evaluate the business plans based upon the likelihood of the plans to become the basis of an actual viable business, and the potential financial viability of the new venture. Factors such as creativity, innovation, a well thought out strategy, technological innovation, reasonable financial analysis should be included in the Business Plan. On 4 October 2006, up to five finalist teams will make a formal presentation to the panel of judges in Hong Kong to compete for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, as well as the Best Presenter and Best Written Business Plan Awards. The competition will certainly strengthen the links among IIBD member universities.
